
It's 10c and so not too cold. The runs starts and in barefoot is hugely enjoyable. There aren't to many sticks in the depths of winter. My feet go a little numb, which hurts a little and then they warm up.
The wind down the back-straight it horrendous, and it is like running through treacle.
In the last km I catch up with Rob. We run together for a bit, and the pace is fast enough to preclude conversation. Towards the finish I kick and put a gap between us.
